Re: DBD::DB2 make failed
Hi Lush

The make compiles successfully for me given your environment of AIX 5.3. I particularly feel that there is something wrong with the environment settings. Can you please provide me the output for the following:-

$ perl -V --- Note the V is capital here. $ uname -a $ echo $DB2_HOME

Versions of DBI and DBD:DB2 installed and if you have any environment settings related to DB2. It would be really great if you can provide me steps of how you are proceeding with the install. I would try to replicate the same environment.

Thanks and Regards

Re: DBD::DB2 make failed
Hi, I have hit the same problem as lush. I'm trying to install the DBD::DB2 perl module. I am using perl 5.8.2 32 bit and trying to build the perl module using DB2 V9.1 on AIX 5.3 64 bit. I have already installed perl DBI. I am installing as root and using the correct path to DB2 include. I noticed that lush fixed the problem by installing DB2 V9.5 client. What I would like to know is can perl 32 bit connect to a 64 bit DB2 database?

Re: DBD::DB2 make failed
Hi, Yes, you can connect to 64-bit DB2 from a 32-bit perl application. Yes, upgrading to a higher version of client will solve the problem you are seeing with compilation. Thanks Praveen opendev@us.ibm.com
