upgrade_db.pl problem

I receive the following error message when I try to upgrade a DBM::Deep file from 0.983 to 1.0013 using ActiveState Perl 5.10 on Win2K3...

DBM::Deep: Cannot store something that is tied. at upgrade_db.pl line 114

Help please.
