How to create marriage event details?

Hi,

I've been using Gedcom.pm for a couple of months now as a mechanism to search and edit GEDCOM files. Now I want to create a complete GEDCOM file using Gedcom.pm. The first bit was very straightforward - creating individuals, and creating the links between them by adding family information.

I am stuck at trying to create the marriage event details (date and place). I imagine that I am suposed to use Gedcom::Record (via the dummy layer Gedcom::Event), but I just can't figure out how to do it.

Please can someone give me an example. I have done all the web search combinations that I can think of, and trawled the Gedcom.pm distribution trying to find examples or figure out how it works under the covers.

All right. Silly me. Just figured out that one of my earlier experiments would have worked ... if I had given it a relevant example to try it on.

All I needed to do was:

if ($marriageDate) { $newFamily->add("marriage date", $marriageDate); } if ($marriagePlace) { $newFamily->add("marriage place", $marriagePlace); }
