I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.
If you are looking for a Perl tutorial or Perl-related news, I hope these links will serve you well.

Is there a PPM for PAR-Packer that will work with AS Perl 5.8.8 build 819?

Using Active State's PPM on Build 819 and the added repositories for Lincoln Stein and Randy Kobes I don't seem to find PAR-Packer anywhere. On older builds I used to find PPMs for PAR and indeed used it on Win2K and WinXP.

I'm running WinXP and on previous occasions utterly failed to find an 'nmake' which would do anything useful as it had used to do on Win2K.

Is there another repositiory containing PAR-Packer for WinXP and AS build 819 anywhere? I had read on-line of a PAR-588 on Randy Kobes' repository but can't find it now.

Thanks

Hi and sorry for the late reply. (I had some cookie-related trouble with logging in. Don't ask.)

Perhaps it wasn't there at the beginning of December, but now, there is PAR-Packer-588 in Randy Kobes' repository. You can also install the PAR-Packer-0.970-MSWin32.....-5.8.8.par on CPAN in my author directory (SMUELLER) alongside the non-binary PAR/PAR::Packer releases. You can install it by using CPAN.pm to install PAR::Packer. It should automatically fetch that .par file for you if you don't have a compiler at hand.

Hope this helps!

Steffen
