Can't use .xspf files
Perhaps someone has some ideas... I've been trying to create my own .xspf file lists. I'm using the opensource music player at sourceforge.net: http://musicplayer.sourceforge.net/ No matter what I try, I can't get any .xspf files to load from any webservers that I have access to. I have scoured the documentation on xspf.org pretty well and I am quite sure that I have well formed files. I have tried creating the file in PHP in order to invoke the proper header (Content type: application/xspf+xml). Nothing works. I tried adding the mime type on my server. I even tried updating the apache handlers on my local server)... nothing works! The interesting thing is that I can download use somebody else's file and it works. I can also create an XSPF at WebJay.com and it works as long as I don't try using the file on any of my servers. Any ideas!? I'm stumped! Thanks!

Re: Can't use .xspf files

Just to clarify...

If I try to use any .xspf file with the url http://myhost/myfile.xspf it does not work.
Files that work on another server will not work when they reside on any of the servers that I have access to. For example, if I try http://webjay.com/myfile.xspf - it works. If I copy the exact same file to http://myhost/myfile.xspf it does not work.

weird!

Re: Can't use .xspf files
I am having the exact same problem. I have been trying for over 3 hours to get the playlist functionality to work. I can get a single mp3 file to work without any problems, but when it comes to a playlist all i get is the never-ending loading screen. Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: Can't use .xspf files
I still can't figure out exactly what the problem is with the sourceforge media player and xspf files. However, I did write a PHP script that will allow me to store all of the xspf list attributes of my song lists in a MySQL file to be used for creating the xspf file. With modrewrite enabled you can then serve the file as .xspf instead of .php. I have not integrated it with content management. But that would be the next step. I think this would make a great XOOPS module. Problem is the media player snag on using my files for some reason.
