I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.

writing gif metadata problem
I am having problem to write the metadata to gif file /exiftool -overwrite_original -IPTC:By-line="test" "test.gif" /exiftool -IPTC:By-line="test" "test.gif" Neither of these work, but they work for jpeg file.. any help would be appreciated!

This question is posted to the wrong section of the CPAN forum (Data-Hexify instead of Image-ExifTool), but I will answer here anyway.

The problem is GIF doesn't support IPTC information. The work-around is to use XMP instead.
