I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.
If you are looking for a Perl tutorial or Perl-related news, I hope these links will serve you well.

Re: Red Hat 5.2 Server 64-bit plus Oracle 10g Express

Sorry. I didn't realize this board was HTML.

I think this probably can't be done but I thought I'd check anyway. Red Hat 5.2 Server comes with a 64-bit Perl:

# perl -V Summary of my perl5 (revision 5 version 8 subversion 8) configuration: Platform: osname=linux, osvers=2.6.9-78.0.1.elsmp, archname=x86_64-linux-thread-multi uname='linux hs20-bc1-7.build.redhat.com 2.6.9-78.0.1.elsmp #1 smp tue jul 22 18:01:05 edt 2008 + x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 gnulinux ' config_args='-des -Doptimize=-O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-pr +otector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -m64 -mtune=generic -Dversion=5.8.8 -Dmyhostname=lo calhost -Dperladmin=root@localhost -Dcc=gcc -Dcf_by=Red Hat, Inc. -Dinstallprefix=/usr -Dprefix=/us +r -Dlibpth=/usr/local/lib64 /lib64 /usr/lib64 -Dprivlib=/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.8 -Dsiteli b=/usr/lib/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8 -Dvendorlib=/usr/lib/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8 -Darchlib=/usr/lib64/ +perl5/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi -Dsitearch=/usr/lib64/perl5/site_perl/5.8.8/x86 _64-linux-thread-multi -Dvendorarch=/usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/5.8.8/x86_64-linux-thread-multi -D +archname=x86_64-linux -Dvendorprefix=/usr -Dsiteprefix=/usr -Duseshrplib -Dusethreads -Duseithreads -Duselargefiles -Dd_dosuid -Dd_semctl_semun -Di_db -Ui_ndbm -Di_gdbm -Di_shadow -Di_ +syslog -Dman3ext=3pm -Duseperlio -Dinstallusrbinperl=n -Ubincompat5005 -Uversiononly -Dpager=/usr/bin/less -isr -Dd_gethostent_r_proto -Ud_endhostent_r_proto -Ud_sethostent_r_proto -Ud +_endprotoent_r_proto -Ud_setprotoent_r_proto -Ud_endservent_r_proto -Ud_setservent_r_ proto -Dinc_version_list=5.8.7 5.8.6 5.8.5 -Dscriptdir=/usr/bin'

As you can see from the above, it doesn't like my libclntsh.so:

gcc -shared -O2 -g -pipe -Wall -Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector --param=ssp- +buffer-size=4 -m64 -mtune=generic Oracle.o dbdimp.o oci8.o -o blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so + \ -L/usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib/ -lclntsh -lpthread \ /usr/bin/ld: skipping incompatible /usr/lib/oracle/xe/app/oracle/product/10.2.0/server/lib//libclnt +sh.so when searching for -lclntsh /usr/bin/ld: cannot find -lclntsh collect2: ld returned 1 exit status make: *** [blib/arch/auto/DBD/Oracle/Oracle.so] Error 1 /usr/bin/make -- NOT OK

What are my options?

Build my own 32-bit Perl since Red Hat doesn't seem to have an option to install a 32-bit Perl on a 64-bit Red Hat?

Is there a 64-bit Oracle 10g Express?

Some other magic?
