libwww-perl-5.814 Makefile.PL failure

I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.

Hi all, I'm attempting to install this on a solaris 8 system but when I do I get the following. /var/tmp/libwww-perl-5.814 # perl Makefile.PL Use of uninitialized value in getprotobynumber at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.8/IO/Socket/INET.pm line 134. Use of uninitialized value in socket at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.8/sun4-solaris/IO/Socket.pm line 80. Use of uninitialized value in socket at /usr/local/lib/perl5/5.8.8/sun4-solaris/IO/Socket.pm line 80. Can't call method "sockport" on an undefined value at talk-to-ourself line 36. Writing Makefile for LWP does anybody have any idea's?? I am very new to this but have been unable find anything that is helpful. thanks
