I am using exiftool and to provided 'xmp2iptc.args' thing that comes with it - although I don't know if I am posting in the correct forum right now - I found that of the five editable fields in Windows Vista: Title, Keywords (tags), Comments, Subject and Author that the comments field does not copy to IPTC. I would like to migrate/switch to Apple Macs and keep all of the metadata I added to my JPG's (which is in XMP format), everything copies except for the Comments field. I also find that checking if the copy has worked in Photo Info (Microsoft metadata tool) it has, but once the file is on my Mac the information from the Comments field has not. I also find that if both the Comments and Subject fields contain data that the Subject field will take priority, I'm not sure now if the data from the Subject field shows in Mac OS X though. Apparently somebody found the correct settings to copy all of the metadata from these five fields to IPTC without loosing anything, but I can't find the thread. I anybody else having this problem - I don't want to loose my metadata in the switch, its the only thing holding me back. Samuel, UK
