How to write external .txt file into work sheet

I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.

How do I write/input an external .txt file into a new worksheet? The text file is in the same directory as the perl script. The text file is updated daily and I would like to create a new excel worksheet daily containing the new text file data. Thanks.
