Users aren't able to login in the domain any more
Hello, we use a software to do the backup of users's PCs (http://backuppc.sourceforge.net )which has a graphcal interface exported by Apache, accessible by the user through a browser. To make every user manage only the backup of his own PC, we used the "Apache-AuthenSmb" module to allow Apache to authenticate the users with our PDC (which isn't administrated by us). All has worked well for more than one year, but the last week it stopped working properly and users are no longer able tp authenticate themselves(they don't have access to the web pages anymore). Last thing we made before it stopped working has been an update: we use RHEL WS3, now update 7. Moreover: apache 2.0.46; perl-5.8.0; mod_perl-1.99_09. We have tried to uninstall some of the new packets to go back to old packages and reinstall all perl modules, but nothing has changed. WE have seen the logs : "user montelsa: password mismatch/cgi-bin/BackupPC_Admin" So we have made some changes to AuthenSmb.pm to make it write on the logs all data that it send to the PDC, and they are correct: "name: de_ferrucfi; sent_pwd: ecatombe2006; pdc: pdcnpge.og.ge.com; domain: GENPITFI01 return: 1 /cgi-bin/BackupPC_Admin" But the "return" is "1" and not "0". We think that it could be a problem of the PDC (as they are changing the domain name from np.ge.com to og.ge.com), but our samba sharings work well (in any case, before asking PDC's administrators we'd like to be sure it's not our fault). We are thinking of changing authentication method or reinstall the whole S.O., but before taking one of this 2 roads we have thought to ask for an help in this forum. If someone can help we'll be glad. Thanks, Filippo
