The README for Google's own perl Adwords API says I need to a) download a development tar-ball from a branch in the repository, and b) apply a patch to it that they provide.

This seems very odd. For anyone to have to give instructions like that suggests significant problems in the development process.

Can you give me some background as to the status of the main-line code and the 'Typemap' branch that google are using?. There seems to be very little activity recently. Are you still able to support the code?

Are you planning to make a release soon? Even just a development release (e.g., with an underscore in the version)?
