The bug in the user field value update method (RT #54004) is fixed in the upcoming 2.112 release.
This bug prevented the applications from updating the user defined fields through userFieldValue() in old OOo 1.0 files (SXW, SXI, SXC); it didn't affect the applications using regular ODF files only.
