I wanted to build an awesome place for people to discuss module specific issues, but I don't have any more time for this, and there are much better places to discuss Perl-related issues. I'd recommend asking your question on Stack Overflow or on Perl Monks.

Re: IPv6 support, ( using IO::Socket::INET6)

I have written a patch for IPv6 support, although net-server works both in IPv4 and IPv6 with patch, I could not pass all the tests. Maybe, a more experienced user can have a look at the patch and make comments.
